PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell that can prevent damage of an electrode of a fuel cell and ensure electrical connection between the fuel cell and a collector, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a solid oxide fuel cell device includes: a process of forming a conductive electrode protective layer 152 on each of electrodes formed on an end of a plurality of fuel cells 16; a module-making process of forming a cell arrangement; and a process of installing a collector 82 to the cell arrangement where the collector 82 is installed to the cell arrangement with elastic force of a plurality of elastic pieces 84a provided on each of a plurality of installation holes 84 for insertion of each of the end of the plurality of fuel cells 16 formed on a metal sheet of the collector by inserting the end of the fuel cell 16 to each of the installation holes 84 of a corresponding collector 82. An electrode protective layer 152 is structured to prevent damage of the electrode due to contact with the elastic piece 84a during the installation process.
