PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode of which the operating potential is 4.3 V or higher based on metallic lithium, and having superior input and output characteristics and high durability.SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the upper-limit operating potential of a positive electrode is 4.3 V or higher based on metallic lithium. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material, and a carbon-deposited phosphate compound. The carbon-deposited phosphate compound is arranged by depositing a conducting carbon on at least part of the surface of an ion-conducting inorganic phosphate compound. According to a preferred embodiment, the inorganic phosphate compound includes a phosphate of an alkali metal element and/or Group II element (typically, an alkali-earth metal element). |
