PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide posture estimation technology which can be simply acquired.SOLUTION: A controller 2 of a posture estimation system is provided with: a measurement part 26 which acquires three-dimensional shape information 211 corresponding to one measurement direction of a reference object 7 by measuring the reference object 7 from the one measurement direction; a pseudo-image creation part 201 which creates two-dimensional image information 212 by grasping the reference object 7 in a pseudo manner from observation directions for each of a plurality of mutually different observation directions based on the three-dimensional shape information 211 acquired by the measurement part 26; a model creation part 202 which creates appearance generation information 213 by using the two-dimensional image information 212 created by the pseudo-image creation part 201 as a learning material; a storage device 21 which preliminarily stores the appearance generation information 213 created by the model creation part 202; and an estimation part 203 which estimates a posture of an object 8 to be represented by the reference object 7 based on a picked-up image 311 obtained by imaging the object 8, and the appearance generation information 213.
