PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet curing type water based ink preventing occurrence of off-set and realizing a high speed recording even when ultraviolet light of a wavelength area of a long wave side is radiated, and being superior in preservation stability.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet curing type water based ink contains: an initiator system that requires water, a self-distributed ultraviolet polymerizable compound, and 2-45 mass% of non-water-soluble α-amino ketone-based initiator as an ultraviolet polymerization initiator for the ultraviolet polymerizable compound, and may contain an acyl phosphine-based initiator; and a non-water-soluble sensitizing agent of 1-20 mass % for the ultraviolet polymerizable compound having absorption band for an ultraviolet light of a wavelength area of 375-450 nm.
