PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a gaze point with high accuracy, regardless of a posture of a subject.SOLUTION: A gaze point detection apparatus 1 includes two stereo cameras 2a, 2b for acquiring a face image of a subject A, light sources 3a, 3b, control circuits 4-6, and an image processing apparatus 7. The image processing apparatus 7 calculates coordinates of a corneal reflection point of the subject and a pupil center, on the basis of the face image acquired by the stereo cameras 2a, 2b, and calculates a direction of an optical axis on the basis of the coordinates. An origin correction vector ris calculated, as an error between the optical axis and a visual axis, to be formed when the subject is in one posture. The image processing apparatus 7 corrects the origin correction vector raccording to the posture of the subject, on the basis of constraints that the origin correction vector ris rotated around the visual axis at the same rotation angle in the left eye and the right eye of the subject. On the basis of the corrected origin correction vector r, the optical axis direction is corrected, to calculate a visual axis direction of the subject A. On the basis of the visual axis direction, a gaze point is detected. |
