INVERTER CIRCUITS FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAYS

An inverter circuit receives DC power supplies from first and second photovoltaic arrays connected in series and converts the DC power supplies to an alternating current power supply suitable for provision to an electricity grid. In the event that a ground fault is detected, the inverter circuit is isolated from the AC grid and a current drawn from the photovoltaic arrays by a booster circuit of the inverter is increased in order to reduce the voltage across the photovoltaic arrays.
