INVERTER CIRCUITS FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAYS

An inverter receives DC power supplies from first and second photovoltaic arrays and converts the DC power supplies to an AC power supply. In response to the detection of a ground fault, the inverter is isolated from the AC output and a terminal of one of the PV arrays is disconnected using a switch. A diode is provided across the first photovoltaic array such that, when the terminal of the PV array is disconnected, a current is allowed to pass from the other PV array to the inverter through the diode.
