The body fluid analyzing system (10) has a collection element (14) for receiving the body fluid in a reservoir (28). A transfer device (20) brings the test element (18) in contact with the body fluid permanently located in the reservoir during the measurement interval. A liquid column remains on a detection surface of the test element. An independent claim is also included for a body fluid analyzing method.
