<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that alters toner for forming a toner image to be suitable for fixation to a recording medium by use of fixing liquid, to reduce power required for heating during fixation, and forms an image without stopping a function even if the fixing liquid cannot be applied. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device 100 for obtaining a desired image by fixing a toner image transferred on a recording medium S includes: an image carrier 11; toner image forming means 60 for forming a toner image on the image carrier 11; application means 41 for applying fixing liquid containing plasticizer for softening and swelling toner with respect to a recording medium S; transfer means 5 for transferring the toner image formed on the imager carrier 11 onto the recording medium S with the fixing liquid applied thereon; and fixing means 6 for heating the recording medium S with the toner image transferred thereon to fix the toner image on the recording medium S.
