The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing a location in an open storage yard using an RFID tag for identifying a location of equipment loaded on the open storage yard. Prior arts, in which location identification in an open storage yard is performed by a method using manual labor or bar codes, requires input of much time for equipment identification and may have a large influence on the prime cost and duration of construction work due to wrong identification. In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, the present invention provides an apparatus and a method for managing a location in an open storage yard. The apparatus comprises: an RFID target tag attached to equipment loaded on the open storage yard; an RFID reference tag installed at a predetermined location in the open storage yard; at least one antenna for receiving a signal from the target tag and the reference tag; and an RFID server which includes a reader, an RFID middleware, and a coordinate calculation unit for calculating a coordinate value of the target tag in a pre-programmed calculation method, and stores the calculated coordinate value, wherein the coordinate calculation unit calculates the coordinate value of the target tag while moving within the open-air storage yard, using a mobile transceiver to which the antenna, the reader, and the RFID server are mounted. |
