<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that includes an onerous operation involving charging in image formation and a non-onerous operation not involving charging in image formation, and even when being left unused in the course of the use by a user, can prevent unauthorized use by the subsequent user and does not obstruct the use by the subsequent user.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus counts a period during which the apparatus is left unused without either the reception of instructions related to image formation or execution of the instructions, and when the period in an onerous operation is longer than a first period or the period in a non-onerous operation is longer than a second period, displays a specific screen (for example, initial screen). With this configuration, the image forming apparatus forcibly displays the initial screen when the apparatus is left unused for a certain amount of time, on the basis of thresholds for the onerous operation and non-onerous operation.</p> |
