<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor which includes a structure achieving both high capacity and downsizing, and to provide a manufacturing method of the solid electrolytic capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: A solid electrolytic capacitor 101 includes: a capacitor element 2; a resin package 1 covering the capacitor element 2; an anode wire 3 connecting with the capacitor element 2 at longitudinal one end part; and an anode member 4 establishing electrical continuity with the anode wire 3. The resin package 1 has a first side surface 11 having a long side extending in the x direction and a second side surface 12 having a long side extending in the y direction, and the first side surface 11 and the second side surface 12 have long sides extending in the z direction. The capacitor element 2 has a first surface 21 arranged parallel to the first side surface 11, a second surface 22 arranged parallel to the second side surface 12, and a third surface 23 sandwiched by the first surface 21 and the second surface 22 in an Lx direction view.
