PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide super-resolution technology while reducing computational complexity and increasing mountability.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: interpolation means which performs linear interpolation on an input image; high-frequency component extraction means which extracts a high-frequency component of an image which has been linearly interpolated by the interpolation means; high-frequency component sharpening means which sharpens the high-frequency component extracted by the high-frequency component extraction means by use of a shock filter; and high-resolution image generation means which adds the image linearly interpolated by the interpolation means to the high-frequency component sharpened by the high-frequency component sharpening means, to generate a high-resolution image.
