Disclosed are a method and base station for implementing inter-base station clock synchronization. The method comprises: a target base station receives synchronization signals transmitted by source base stations, selects one synchronization signal among the synchronization signals as a first synchronization signal, implements, on the basis of the first synchronization signal, clock synchronization with a first source base station that transmitted the first synchronization signal, determines a synchronization level of the target base station on the basis of a synchronization level of the first source base station, determines, on the basis of the synchronization level of the target base station, whether or not a criterion for transmitting a second synchronization signal is satisfied, and, if the criterion for transmitting the second synchronization signal is determined to be satisfied, then transmits the second synchronization signal to allow a base station that received the second synchronization signal to implement clock synchronization with the target base station on the basis of the second synchronization signal received. Implementation of embodiments of the present invention allows a base station to determine, on the basis of the synchronization level thereof, whether or not to transmit a synchronization signal, thus reducing the overhead for a macrocell network while ensuring the synchronization performance of the entire macrocell network. |
