The invention discloses a transmitter (10) for transmitting a message (M) with an identifier (ID) to a receiver (20) in a network (1). The transmitter (10) comprises a determination unit (13) for determining a check criterion (P) which has a temporally limited validity, an ascertainment unit (14) which is equipped to ascertain a multiplicity of possible identifiers (ID) and to select the identifier (ID), which fulfils the check criterion (P), from the multiplicity of identifiers (ID), and a transmission unit (12) for transmitting a message (M) with the ascertained identifier (ID) to the receiver (20) during the temporally limited validity of the test criterion (P). By using the disclosed transmitter, an authentication or identification is provided within a network, without allowing the transmitter to determine an arbitrary number of identifiers in advance. In this way, security within the network is improved. In addition, a receiver for receiving the message, a network comprising a transmitter and a receiver, and a corresponding transmission method and a corresponding receiving method are provided. |
