The purpose of the present invention is to provide technology, which, using a simple structure, not only reduces stress on the catheter but also stress on the MDU and which enables long term use of the MDU. For said purpose, the connector in the catheter for connecting to the MDU comprises: a freely rotating knob that exposes and holds the end face of the optical fiber; an elastic body that functions as a shock absorber when the knob moves backward during connection with the MDU; and a member, which is interposed between the knob and the elastic body and for which the frictional force of contact when the knob moves backward is at or below a specified value. |
