The present invention is a terminal holding structure that is for a connector (2) and that press fits and holds a linear section (61) of a terminal (6) in a terminal holding hole (44) that is formed on a terminal holding wall (41) of a housing (4) that is made from a resin. At least one pair of protrusions (62) that protrude toward both sides of a direction that is orthogonal to the press-fitting direction are formed on the outer surface of the linear section (61) of the terminal (6) at locations that correspond to the terminal holding hole (44). The protruding sections (62) are formed so as to comprise a recess (63) on the tip section thereof, said recess (63) having a wedge-shaped cross-section that is orthogonal to the linear section (61). The recesses (63) of the protruding sections (62) that protrude toward both sides are formed so that the length (W1) between the bottom sections (64) thereof is larger than the length (W2) of the terminal holding hole (44) at the positions at which the protruding sections (62) that protrude toward both sides are press fitted. As a result, the holding power of the terminal (6) that is press fitted in the terminal holding hole (44) is increased and it is possible to stably hold the terminal (6). |
