Disclosed are a positioning device and method, which relate to the technical field of communication networks and are used for solving the problem of positioning terminals when a plurality of nodes belonging to the same cell serve the same terminal. In the embodiments of the present invention, the method comprises: sending, by a sending module, auxiliary data information to a terminal, the auxiliary data information being information required for the terminal to measure various positioning nodes, wherein the auxiliary data information comprises positioning node index numbers of the various positioning nodes; receiving, by a receiving module, a positioning measurement result sent by the terminal, and providing the positioning measurement result for a positioning module, the positioning measurement result comprising positioning measurement results corresponding to all the positioning node index numbers or positioning measurement results of reference positioning node index numbers respectively corresponding to the other positioning node index numbers; and positioning, by the positioning module, a position of the terminal through the positioning measurement result. The solution provided in the embodiments of the present invention is suitable for use when a terminal is being positioned. |
