<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an appropriate candidate selectable automatically when a plurality of candidates exist as source contacts of information required, and to prevent increase of processing burden in control. <P>SOLUTION: An instrument for a vehicle includes: a display part 11, which displays a measured value; a first signal input part 24; a second signal input part 25; a measured value selection control part 10, which selects either one of first information and second information and displays a measured value of the selected information on the display part; a nonvolatile information storage part 21, which holds selected information D2, which indicates the selected state of the first information or the second information in the measured value selection/control part, and unprocessed information D1, which indicates whether a predetermined section switching process is in an unprocessed state; and a selected information determination part 10, which, provided that the unprocessed information D1 is in the unprocessed state, performs the selection switching process, reflects the result in the selected information, and renews the unprocessed information as processed.
