The present invention pertains to technology for the recovery and regeneration of platinum paste. The present invention is a method for recovering a metal powder from a platinum paste obtained by mixing: a solid component comprising metal powder including at least a platinum powder or a platinum alloy powder; and an organic component comprising at least an organic solvent, wherein the platinum paste is heated to a recovery temperature in the range of 300-500°C to remove the organic component. The recovered metal powder can be regenerated into a platinum paste similar to a new paste by mixing the same with a solvent, etc.
