<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that storage device encryption must be implemented in hardware in order to satisfy required performance, but a high-secrecy encryption method using a key (e.g., AES cryptogram) that is the mainstream of encryption methods has a drawback in that speed-up, development period, and cost burdens are large, resulting in storage devices mounted in an MFP - especially those that retain data even when removed and must therefore be protected against theft - have not all been subjected to encryption.SOLUTION: The present invention has means for dividing a data bus into several sections and means for generating a selector circuit and a select signal to be imparted thereto from inherent and address values per model, and applies encryption to all of the storage devices which are included in a device and must be protected against theft, whereby overall security for the device is enhanced.</p> |
