<p>A photoelectric conversion element which has a laminated structure wherein a photosensitive body having a semiconductor particle layer onto which a dye is adsorbed, a charge transfer body and a counter electrode are arranged on a conductive supporting body. In this photoelectric conversion element, a metal complex dye represented by formula (1) is used as the dye.
