<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus configured to create a character recognition dictionary without requiring an operator to confirm or specify a character clipping position.SOLUTION: Candidate determination means of an image processing apparatus determines a clipping candidate which is a candidate of a single character image from an image. Character recognition means performs character recognition on the clipping candidate. Creating means creates a character string formed of a result of recognition by the character recognition means and a correspondence relation of a character clipping position corresponding to the recognition result. Position determination means compares a correct character string of the image with the character string created by the creating means, to determine a character clipping position as a correct character string. Association means clips a single character image from the image on the basis of the character clipping position determined by the position determination means, and associates the single character image with a recognition result corresponding to the character clipping position of the single character image, or a character in the correct character string, as an element of the character recognition dictionary.</p> |
