PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist, when calibration for performing position detection has not been completed correctly, cancellation of a factor which has inhibited the calibration.SOLUTION: A projector 10 includes: a position detection section 50 for detecting an operation position of an indication body 70; and a calibration control section 39 for performing calibration related to detection of the operation position by the position detection section 50. The calibration control section 39 determines whether or not calibration has been successful during or after execution of the calibration. When the calibration has not been completed correctly, the calibration control section 39 outputs relevant information on the execution of calibration.
