The invention relates to a method for separating ammonia out of an alcoholic solution in the presence of carbonic acid compounds while avoiding formation of deposits, in that the solution to be separated is charged in the upper part of a distillation column and the temperature at the charging point is set such that the solubility of the ammonium salts of the relevant carbonic acid compound is produced under the operating conditions at the head of the distillation column.
