<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device capable of suppressing reduction in the amount of developer even when the amount of a carrier supplied per unit image is small, and appropriately maintaining the amount of discharge of a two-component developer through a discharge opening to stabilize the amount of the developer in the device.SOLUTION: A developer includes: a first conveyance member (45) for conveying a developer in a first chamber (42a); a second conveyance member (46) for conveying the developer in a second chamber (42b) in a direction opposite to the conveyance direction of the developer by the first conveyance member; an opposite conveyance member (50) for energizing the flow of the developer conveyed by the second conveyance member in the opposite direction to convey the developer in the second chamber to the first chamber through a communication portion (47a); and a discharge portion (53) for discharging an excess developer. A developer carrier area (43a) of a developer carrier body (43) is positioned downstream of the communication portion (47a) in the conveyance direction of the developer of the first conveyance member (45).</p> |
