<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of expecting early start of reading without requiring time and labor of a user in a reading device having two original platens.SOLUTION: An MFP (Multi Function Peripheral) 100 can execute first reading operation which reads a document while feeding the document using an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) 22, and second reading operation which reads the document while moving a reading head 21. The MFP 100 determines whether or not a specific condition is satisfied upon receiving a reading instruction in a specific state being a state after a plurality of sheets of documents are set in the ADF 22 and reading of at least one sheet of the document is started till the reading instruction with respect to the subsequent document is received. The specific condition is a condition for determining execution of the second reading operation. When determining that the specific condition is satisfied, the MFP 100 executes the second reading operation. On the other hand, when determining that the specific condition is not satisfied, the MFP 100 executes the first reading operation.</p> |
