PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which the brightness of an image formed on a recording medium is improved.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus transfers a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor with a developer, which includes flat shape toner particles containing a planar metallic pigment and having an average long axis length of 7 μm or more and 20 μm or less and an average thickness of 1 μm or more and 3 μm or less, to a transfer target body, and applies a bias voltage to the toner image transferred to the transfer target body so that the directions of long axes of the respective flat shape toner particles are aligned and the respective flat shape toner particles lie along the surface of the transfer target body, so as to fix the toner image after the application of the bias. |
