The invention relates to a distribution system (40) for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine including: - a crankshaft (8) shaped so as to be rotated about the axis of rotation (42) thereof by means of the pistons of the engine; and - a distribution drive device (1) shaped so as to be rotated about the axis of rotation thereof by means of said crankshaft (8). Said distribution drive device (1) is shaped so as to engage with a distributor shaft by means of a timing chain (10). Said distribution system (40) includes holding means (30, 38) shaped so as to keep said axis of rotation of the distribution drive device (1) substantially aligned with said axis of rotation (42) of the crankshaft (8). Said holding means (30, 38) comprise at least one portion (38) that is built into said distribution drive device (1) and shaped so as to be obtainable through stamping.
