PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimally improved coating apparatus and a related method.SOLUTION: A coating apparatus comprises: multi-axis coating robots 6 and 7 for positioning an atomizer to coat especially a vehicle body 2 and its portions; a robot control device for controlling the coating robots 6 and 7; and control cabinets 8 and 9 equipped with the robot control device. The control cabinets 8 and 9 are formed into a load supporting post shape for supporting the coating robots 6 and 7 mechanically.
