PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable capable of, while achieving satisfactory bending characteristics by disposing a cushion layer, preventing tension members from entering the cushion layer when the tension members are spirally disposed for securing buckling resistance.SOLUTION: An optical cable 1 comprises optical fibers 2A, an inner layer sheath 3 arranged on a periphery of the optical fibers, a cushion layer 5 arranged on a periphery of the inner layer sheath 3, an outer layer sheath 6 arranged on a periphery of the cushion layer 5, and multiple tension members 7 that are embedded in the outer layer sheath 6, and spirally twisted in a lengthwise direction of the cable and spaced from each other. |
