<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace bottom refractory erosion detection method for a melting furnace capable of easily and accurately measuring an erosion amount of a furnace bottom refractory without removing a metal layer, and capable of designing an aptitude operation plan. <P>SOLUTION: In the furnace bottom refractory erosion detecting method, the erosion amount of the furnace bottom refractory 18 is measured in the melting furnace 10 wherein a slug layer 22 and the metal layer 23 below it are deposited on a furnace bottom by melting an object to be treated inputted into a furnace interior. A correlation of slug temperature-furnace bottom refractory temperature, and an erosion speed equation of the furnace bottom refractory are determined beforehand, a slug temperature of the slug layer is measured during operation of the melting furnace, a refractory temperature is estimated from the measured slug temperature on the basis of the correlation of the slug temperature-furnace bottom refractory temperature, the erosion amount of the furnace bottom refractory is calculated from the estimated refractory temperature by using the erosion speed equation, and an operation plan of the melting furnace is corrected on the basis of the erosion amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
