Provided are a group communication apparatus and method. The method comprises: configuring uplink feedback information for a part of a group of UEs or all UEs which receive group communication service data, thus enabling a group communication apparatus to control downlink data transmission according to the uplink feedback information fed back by a UE, for example, determining proper MCS and HARQ re-transmission, etc., which improves the reliability and transmission efficiency of group communication service data packet transmission.
