<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element capable of emitting electrons uniformly with good controllability. <P>SOLUTION: The electron emission element comprises a first electrode, an electron emission control insulating film formed on the first electrode and having a plurality of small holes penetrating in the film thickness direction, an electron acceleration layer formed on the electron emission control insulating film and containing at least insulating particulates, and a second electrode formed on the electron acceleration layer. The electron emission element is configured so that electrons emitted from the first electrode by applying a voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode are accelerated in the electron acceleration layer at the position of the small hole in the electron emission control insulating film and emitted from the second electrode to the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
