A backlight device (12) is provided with: an LED (17); a lightguide plate (19); a prism sheet (42); a light emitting surface-side prism (43); a light-exiting reflective area (41) having unit reflective areas (41a) comprising a main reflective surface (41a1) and a re-incident surface (41a2) arranged opposite thereto; an opposite plate surface-side prism (44); first reflective protrusions (45) having an extended main reflective surface (45a) continuous with a main reflective surface (41a1), and a first auxiliary reflective surface (45b) by which light moving towards an opposite plate surface (19c) is reflected towards the main reflective surface (41a1) and the extended main reflective surface (45a); and second reflective protrusions (46) having an extended re-incident surface (46a) continuous with the re-incident surface (41a2) and a second auxiliary reflective surface (46b) by which light incident on the re-incident surface (41a2) and/or the extended re-incident surface (46a) is reflected towards a light exit surface (19a). |
