A method for inspecting the lifespan characteristics of a display panel (4) in which pixels containing a light-emitting element (organic EL element (403)) are arranged in a matrix, the method involving: a first step for setting a first lighting region (110) configured from multiple pixels; a second step for setting a lights-off region (200) containing all the pixels adjacent to the first lighting region (110); a third step for setting a second lighting region (120) configured from multiple pixels that are not included in the first lighting region (110) and the lights-off region (200); and a fourth step for inspecting the lifespan characteristics of the display panel (4) by lighting the pixels of the first lighting region (110) and the pixels of the second lighting region (120) at a different brightness from one another without lighting the pixels of the lights-off region (200).
