The present invention provides a failover method, apparatus and system. The method comprises: a second device receiving a transaction processing packet, the transaction processing packet comprising processing information of accessing a peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) device by a host, and the processing information being used for describing information required for restoring the transaction when the transaction is interrupted; the second device also storing topological information of the PCIe device and loading a driver of the PCIe device; and when the second device detects that a first device fails, the second device continuing to process, according to the topological information, the driver and the processing information, the transaction of accessing the PCIe device by the host when the first device fails. The present invention implements a fast switchover between active and standby processors.
