<p>The contamination control mat comprises a non-woven (for example, spun bond) core layer 16 coated on one surface with a contamination controlling polymeric material 12 and on the opposite surface with a polymeric backing layer 14. Its use and production are also claimed. The preferred top layer 12 comprises a polymer blend including polyester plasticiser and antimicrobial silver nitrate. The preferred backing 14 has nonslip properties. The mat is used in clean rooms for hospitals, factories, food preparation areas, spray paint booths and laboratories, for example in the pharmaceutical, electronics, aerospace, catering, automotive, biomedical, information technology, nuclear, optical and medical devices industries.</p> |
