The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus and an image processing method. The image processing apparatus includes: an image obtaining means which obtains an image; and a feature quantity obtaining means which calculates feature quantities corresponding to the image by performing a certain calculation for the obtained image and outputs the calculated feature quantities. The feature quantity obtaining means, in the case where a subordinate value is included in the calculated feature quantities, substitutes a concerned value for the absolute value of the concerned value. |
