<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting a target vehicle using v2v (vehicle to vehicle) wireless communication and a method thereof. The present invention is to provide an apparatus for detecting a target vehicle using v2v wireless communication and a method thereof which is configured to correctly detect a target vehicle even when a preceding vehicle changes lanes, by detecting the lane of the preceding vehicle based on path history data and lane changing data from the preceding vehicle. To achieve the above purpose, in the apparatus for detecting target vehicle using v2v, the present invention comprises: a position data acquiring part which acquires position data of a self-vehicle; a communications part which receives path history data and lane changing data from a preceding vehicle; a spacing distance calculating part which calculates the distance between the position of a self-vehicle and a straight line which sequentially connects each GPS point in the path history data (the length of a vertical line); a determining part which determines whether the preceding vehicle is traveling in the same lane as the self-vehicle based on the distance calculated by the spacing distance calculating part and the lane changing data; and a target vehicle detecting part which detects the preceding vehicle which travels on the same lane as the self-vehicle as a target vehicle.</p> |
