Provided are an overheat protection circuit having good detection accuracy without the effect of a leak current at low power consumption, and a voltage regulator having an overheat protection circuit. The overheat protection circuit comprises: a leak current detection circuit which detects the flow of a current at high temperatures; a bias circuit which allows a bias current to flow according to an output signal of the leak current detection circuit, and a temperature detection circuit which is operated by the bias current.
