The present invention relates to a block unit for vertical retaining wall construction. The purpose of the present invention is to plant various types of plants. To achieve the purpose, according to the present invention, the block unit for vertical retaining wall construction comprises: a first block where a first sand filling cavity is formed in a front side and a first soil filling hole is formed in the rear side and having a first protrusion and having a fist assembling fixing groove; a second block having a second soil filling cavity and having a second protrusion and having a second assembling fixing groove; a third block where a third planting extension cavity is formed in a front side and a third soil filling cavity is formed in the rear side and having a third protrusion and having a third assembling fixing groove; a fourth block where a fourth plating groove is formed in the front side and a fourth soil filling cavity is formed in the rear side and having the assembling fixing protrusion; and a fifth block having the fixing groove.
