A biaxially stretched, blow molded synthetic resin bottle with a bottom (5) which comprises a peripheral foot (12) surrounding a bottom plate and a bottom ridge (33a) disposed inward from the peripheral foot and formed to project downward to a position initially lower than the peripheral foot (12) so that the bottom ridge forms a first ground contact portion. When the bottle bottom draws upward to a position higher than the level of the peripheral foot (12), absorbing reduced inner bottle pressure, the bottom ridge (33a) draws upward to an oblique position while maintaining the shape of this ridge that still projects downward, while the peripheral foot (12) forms a second and only ground contact portion. |
