Disclosed are an electric energy storage system with improved terminal structure and a terminal structure for the same. According to the present invention, the electric energy storage comprises: a metal case which accommodates a bare cell; an upper plate member, which is inserted in an upper part of the metal case, is combined with the metal case with its opened part sealed and has a circular outer circumference; cathode and anode internal terminals which are respectively disposed in the cathode electrode and anode electrode of the bare cell in opposite sides within the metal case; and cathode and anode external terminals which are electrically connected to the cathode and anode internal terminals, respectively. At least any one of the cathode and anode external terminals is composed of a planar plate, one side of which is combined in surface contact with the bare cell and has a disk shape and a side frame which is extended from a border of the other side of the planar plate in the vertical direction and has a cylindrical shape. The upper plate member has a circle concentric with a circular outer circumference toward a lower part and forms a combining protrusion, the inner part of which is opened to be protruded, and provides an inner space between the upper plate member and cathode or anode internal terminal by being inserted and combined to any one side frame selected out of the cathode and anode external terminals.
