1. A measuring method comprising:
measuring a target with a sensor by effecting relative movement between the target and the sensor; storing, at a predetermined timing interval, a measurement value of the target in a first area allocated in a memory; changing an area in which the measurement value of the target is to be stored from the first area to a second area different from the first area, in a case where an event that the measurement value substantially varies occurs; continuing, for a predetermined number of times, storing the measurement value in the first area even after an area in which the measurement value of the target is to be stored is changed, wherein the predetermined number of times is less than a maximum number of sub-areas of the first area in which the measurement value can be stored; and determining a status of the target based on the measurement value stored in the memory.
