The compounds of Formula (I) wherein R1 is selected from Br and CN; R2 is selected from H and Br; R3 is H or -(C=X)R; R is selected from H, CH3, CF3, CF2H, CFH2, CC13, CC12H, CC1H2, CBr3, CBr2H and CBrH2; X is O or S. The compounds are useful in the synthesis of 2-Amino-4,6-dimethoxybenzamide derivatives.
