1. A collagenous biomaterial medical device, comprising:
a sterile pouch containing a lyophilized multilaminate construct including multiple sheets of collagenous matrix tissue obtained as said sheets from a tissue source and retaining a native collagen biomaterial structure; said lyophilized multilaminate construct prepared by a process including lyophilizing said multiple sheets while in contact with one another; said collagenous matrix having a density greater than 0.10 grams per cubic centimeter and less than 0.65 grams per cubic centimeter; and said collagenous matrix containing at least one biotropic agent, wherein the biotropic agent is a proteoglycan, a glycosaminoglycan, or a growth factor. |
