The present invention relates to a method for preparing a chiral β-hydroxy carbonyl compound and a chiral β-hydroxy carbonyl compound prepared thereby and, more specifically, to a method for preparing a chiral β-hydroxy carbonyl compound and a chiral β-hydroxy carbonyl compound prepared thereby, wherein a catalyst composition including a proline and an isothiouronium salt is used in an asymmetrical aldol reaction to improve stereoselectivity. According to the present invention, a catalyst composition including a proline derivative and an isothiouronium salt is used in an asymmetrical aldol reaction, thereby improving a yield, enantioselectivity and diasteroselectivity. |
