[Class 122 (v)] An oil seal, e.g., between a wheel hub and axle spindle comprises a rigid member 37 clamped to one part and having bonded or otherwise secured there, a " neoprene" or other resilient member 43 formed with a tapered projection bearing on the other part. The bearing pressure may be adjusted by tightening a nut 38. A metal ring of L-section may be mounted in the hub 12 with its radial flange extending between the bearing rail 24 and the resilient ring 43 to provide a bearing surface. |
