The present invention relates to systems, devices and methods for playing a motion video. The method comprises the following steps: transmitting a request through a communication network; streaming a specific motion video sequence from a motion video storage device to a motion video playback device; streaming motion video data of the motion video sequence, requested from the motion video data storage device, to the motion video playback device; displaying the streamed motion video data on a display connected to the playback device when the streamed motion video data is received in the playback device; and transmitting a request for a change in a playback speed to the motion video data storage device. In response to a step of receiving the request for a change in the playback speed, the motion video data storage device performs the following steps: decoding motion video data from a temporary position of the specific motion video sequence which is not streamed to the motion video playback device; compressing the decoded motion video data for time; encoding the compressed motion video data by using an encoding method corresponding to an encoding technique used for encoding the specific motion video sequence; and continually streaming the motion video sequence to the motion video playback device by using the compressed and encoded motion video data. |
